Archaeology

During your Archaeology and International Relations course of studies offered by University of Malta , they will provide you with the academic knowledge required to understand how archaeology is a necessary and important area through which modern society can learn about primitive or ancient societies and cultures on a global scale. They offer a Mediterranean archaeological perspective where you will have the opportunity to put to practice the concepts and theories learned into the field work unit offered during summer recess. 

They will also encourage you to undergo the Erasmus+ mobility programme, as they believe that a diversified and multi-cultural experience through international learning will provide you with a more refined learning outcome.

Applicants wishing to join the part-time mode must submit their application as full-time, and then include a note in the comments box of the application form, denoting their preference to be considered for the part-time option. Such requests will be considered by the Board of the Faculty.

International Relations

The undergraduate programme in International Relations offers you an academic perspective on the liaison between countries, and how bureaucratic decisions by hegemonic countries and the intervening action of administrative boards, state officials and elected representatives create a complex web of intercountry relations. 

During the course they will provide you with a coherent and clear image of how Western, European and Non-European countries coalesce, ranging from topics such as understanding foreign policy of USA and international economics, to international relations since 1919 and conflict resolution, to name a few. They also encourage you to participate in the Erasmus+ mobility programme, as they believe a multicultural perspective will provide a holistic academic journey.

Careers

Archaeology

As a graduate of this course, you will have career opportunities both locally and abroad, in which your valuable knowledge on the subject will be demonstrated. You will be able to pursue a career as an archaeologist, conservator, heritage manager, historic buildings inspector or conservation officer, museum/gallery curator, tourism officer, records manager, archivist, cartographer and as a social research. 

If you are interested in furthering your studies, or are considering an academic career in archaeology, then they encourage you to enrol in a postgraduate course offered at the University, where you will be able to hone your knowledge and gain a holistic understanding of the subject.

International Relations

As a graduate of this programme of study you will be employable, both locally and internationally, as an intelligence analyst, policy office political risk analyst, international aid worker, public affairs consultant, diplomatic service officer and as a civil service fast streamer.
