The additional foundation year provides an excellent introduction to studying a science subject at university, giving you a taste of learning at this higher level, while building your knowledge, skills and confidence. On successful completion, you will join Year 1 of BSc (Hons) Zoology programme.

Careers

The Zoology (with Foundation Year) (Hons) degree offered by Bangor University not only teaches you how to care for and conserve animal life, but it also gives you the knowledge and skills to work in countless careers: from journalism to ecological consultancy, and management to scientific research.

The zoologists work all over the world in wildlife management, environmental consultancy, local and national media, and teaching. A number have gone on to work in UK and international zoos and public aquaria, and several recent graduates have gained employment as animal care technicians in universities and industry. Others have followed their passion for exploring the natural world to conduct postgraduate studies at Bangor and other world-leading institution.

You can also continue your studies, undertaking a wide range of postgraduate (MSc and PhD) programmes, including our MSc Conservation and Land Management, MSc Marine Top Predator, MSc Marine Biology and new MSc Wildlife Conservation.
