Background

The Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness (Hons) from the University Putra Malaysia's Agribusiness department emphasizes its learning activities on enhancing agribusiness production by focusing on efficiency of commercial oriented production and marketing through the promotion of production techniques, introduction of good farming system and commercialisation of agricultural activities. In addition, the need of incorporating the latest agricultural information into a more structured and complete information system which increasingly critical to the development, competitiveness and productivity of the agricultural sector, especially in the globalization trend is also addressed. Complete information and data such as production, prices, imports, exports and stocks are required for computational and analytical modelling, advanced analysis, policy formulation, planning and decision making. The objective of this department is to become a centre of excellence in agribusiness and agricultural economics education and research through teaching, research and advisory activities.
