Key facts
Boğaziçi University Faculty of Law will offer a bilingual legal education in Turkish and English. A significant portion of the compulsory courses will be taught in Turkish, while elective courses will be taught in English. With some of the compulsory courses, numerous elective courses, and courses taken from other departments of Boğaziçi University, the percentage of English-language courses is planned to be well above the legally required 30%.
Within the framework of our mission and vision at Boğaziçi University Faculty of Law, we will actively participate in national and international exchange programs (Erasmus, etc.). To this end, we aim to establish bilateral and multilateral agreements with numerous prestigious universities, leveraging the connections of both Boğaziçi University and our academics. In this context, our goal is to be not only a sending faculty (in terms of students, academic and administrative staff) but also a receiving faculty. We believe that bilingual education and widely available English-language courses will significantly contribute to strengthening the Faculty's collaborative network in this area.
Student quotas at prestigious universities worldwide and in our country have been examined, taking into account that Boğaziçi University Faculty of Law will offer bilingual education. As a result of these examinations, the fundamental principles regarding the planned student quota of our faculty have been determined. The aim is to limit the quota to the number of students required to fulfill our vision and mission. It is anticipated that with the first student intake, our faculty will become one of the most preferred law faculties in Türkiye.
