Design (Hons) NABA, New Academy of Fine Arts

Overview

The BA (Hons) Design at the NABA London campus develops the ability to analyse a context, define a design problem and carry a considered response through to production. Delivered in English over three years at Here East, the programme combines theoretical study with intensive project work across products, interiors, services and shared spaces.

Students work across the following areas:

• Research and visual development: Drawing and photography support the investigation and communication of design ideas.

• Materials and making: Material exploration and prototyping allow concepts to be developed and tested through practical work.

• Digital tools: Modelling, rendering and AI are integrated into the development of projects.

• Wider design contexts: Marketing, interaction, exhibition and urban design broaden the programme’s approach to objects and spaces.

• Interdisciplinary practice: Workshops connect cultural awareness and critical thinking with the practical decisions involved in design.

This is a single-track programme with no formal specialisations. The BA (Hons) Design carries 360 UK credits and is awarded by Regent’s University London.

The BA (Hons) Design is also available in combination with the Foundation Course, designed to provide students with the cultural and methodological foundations needed to successfully undertake the three-year degree.

Accreditation

The BA (Hons) programmes delivered at the NABA London campus are validated by Regent’s University London, which is responsible for awarding the degrees. Graduates therefore receive an internationally recognised qualification from the University. Confirmed in April 2026, the partnership is reviewed periodically, with its next review due in 2031.
