The Data Science pathway develops understanding of data and elicits usable knowledge, and teaches students the necessary skills to analyse, discover and apply the knowledge from larger repositories and data sources. Data Science investigates the extraction of novel knowledge and insight from different types of data.

Your first year is designed to provide a strong foundation in computer science, with a focus on programming, computer systems, data structures, algorithms, and introductory artificial intelligence.In Years two and three, Students choose from topics including Big Data Analysis, Machine Learning and Data Mining, Databases and Knowledge Bases, Knowledge-based Systems, High-Performance Computing, Knowledge Graphs and Web-Scale Ontologies, Image Processing, and Neural Networks.On this pathway, you will graduate with the degree title Bachelor of Science with Honours in Computer Science (Cyber Security).

in A levels including Maths or Computer Science. Mathematics (Pure), Mathematics (Pure and Applied), and Mathematics (Pure) and Statistics are acceptable. CCEA A level Software Systems Development and CCEA A level in Digital Technology (Northern Ireland) aren't acceptable subjects. We don't accept A level IT.
Applicants with the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) are eligible for a reduction in grade requirements. For this course, the offer is AAB from A levels, with A in the EPQ including Mathematics or Computer Science.
You may automatically qualify for reduced entry requirements through our contextual offers scheme.
