Overview

Telecommunications Engineering and Internet of Things (Honours) (Scholar) from University of Wollongong, graduates will be prepared for careers in public and private sectors that deal with the transmission, targeting and management of data and information through telecommunications networks, satellite systems, NBN, mobile telecommunications, television, radio and other media broadcasting infrastructure, as well as defense, space and security industries.

As a Washington Accord accredited program, graduates are qualified for employment in Telecommunications Engineering roles in many other countries.

Under supervision of experienced engineers, graduates will be capable of holding positions with significant responsibility for design and operation of telecommunications systems.

Specific roles may include, but are not limited to: design of sensing and detection systems, such as those found in self-driving vehicles; operation of mobile phone and broadband network infrastructure; design of integrated communications and control system networks in smart buildings; design and operation of micro satellites and satellite communication systems; design and operation of optical networks.
