Overview

The Foundation in Computer Science programme from Goldsmiths University of London Online provides students with a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical computational concepts. As well as learning about and using current tools, languages and approaches in Computing and Computer Science, students will learn about underlying concepts to flexibly embrace new tools, languages and approaches as they arise, future-proofing their learning.

This programme helps you gain essential skills in mathematics, programming and computational theory needed to prepare for degree-level study in computing and related disciplines. Programme Structure

The Foundation in Computer Science is a 15-month long programme taught in two key blocks. Block one offers an introduction to core skills in Computer Science – including mathematics, programming, and computation.

Once complete, students will build upon these key topics with block two, combining mathematics and computing, as well as programming and problem solving.

This programme is designed for students aged 17 or older who do not yet meet the formal academic requirements for direct entry to degree-level study in Computer Science or technology-related subjects.

You must be able to demonstrate numeracy skills at, or equivalent to, GCSE Mathematics grade 4 (grade C) to apply.
