Overview
The curriculum combines foundational courses in translation theories, methods, and applied skills with elective options tailored to evolving market needs. Practical components, such as a translation practicum, ensure that students translate theoretical proficiency into real-world application.
The main objectives of the Translation and Interpretation course at Istanbul Arel University are to develop English language proficiency in both spoken and written contexts and to provide comprehensive training in diverse translation types: consecutive, simultaneous, and audiovisual (subtitle and dubbing), as well as news translation.
Graduates earn an associate degree and are prepared for careers in public and private sectors, including ministries, media outlets, news agencies, publishing houses, film studios, import-export companies, and international institutions. Opportunities also exist for vertical transfer to four-year programmes through exams, leading to further academic and professional progression.
