Overview

This Environmental Science (Hons) degree course from Bangor University   equips you with the knowledge, skills and expertise to evaluate and implement solutions to environmental problems with an appreciation of the social, political, economic and ethical considerations involved.

Our research-informed teaching enables you to tap into the latest findings and knowledge of staff whose specialisms cover all major areas within the discipline, such as climate change, food security, land use policy, pollution, soils, and water quality. At the same time, practical sessions, field work, lab and classroom lessons develop your scientific knowledge in biology, chemistry, earth science, and land and water resource management.

Against the backdrop of a global energy and food security crisis, destruction of precious habitats, growing volumes of waste and a changing climate, environmental scientists are needed now more than ever by industry, government, and society. In the US alone, the number of jobs for environmental scientists is expected to grow 6% – well above average – over the next decade.
