Overview

This Zoology with Conservation (Hons) course offered at the Bangor University will help you understand the factors affecting biodiversity loss, why environmental conservation is needed and the different ways to achieve it effectively. You will gain a solid grounding in traditional zoology and animal ecology – studying taxonomy, anatomy, behaviour and how animals interact with their environment. You might observe ravens on Anglesey, learn about land use and management in the National Park or complete an international field course learning about conservation issues.

A Zoology degree from Bangor University not only teaches you the diversity of animal life and conserve animal life. It will give you the knowledge and skills to work in countless careers: from journalism to ecological consultancy, and management to scientific research.

Our zoologists work all over the world in wildlife management, conservation, environmental consultancy, local and national media, and teaching. A number have gone on to work in UK and international zoos and public aquaria, and several recent graduates have gained employment as animal care technicians in universities and industry.

GCSE: grade C/4 in English, Maths and Double Award Science, if not demonstrated by the Level 3 qualification/s.
