- A-Level: ABB including Chinese, French, German, Japanese or Spanish. Where a candidate wishes to study a single language from beginners level and is not studying an A Level in a modern foreign language, a grade B or 6 in any modern foreign language or English language at GCSE is required.
- International Baccalaureate: 32 points with Higher Level in Chinese, French, German or Spanish at grade 6 or above.
- Where a candidate wishes to study a single language from beginners level and does not have a language at IB Higher Level, a grade 5 in any modern foreign language or English language at IB Standard Level is required.
