Overview
The Aeronautical Engineering programme offered by University of South Wales is designed for aeronautical engineers that have an inquiring mind, wanting to understand how things work and how to apply knowledge to solving industry problems. Whilst many of our students pursue careers in the aerospace sectors, the course also provides the academic base for those interested in a career as a Mechanical Engineer.

This BEng (Hons) Aeronautical Engineering degree was developed in close consultation with industry professional bodies, including the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) to boost your employability
All aeronautical engineering students are encouraged to complete a work placement and experience to complement your studies. UK students have previously worked at sites such as GE Aviation Wales, Airbus Filton, and British Airways Maintenance Cardiff (BAMC)

Other requirements
General requirements
- The University normally requires a minimum of 5 GCSEs including Mathematics/Numeracy and English at Grade C or Grade 4 or above, or their equivalent, but consideration is given to individual circumstances.
- International applicants will need to have achieved an overall of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component/TOEFL 72 overall and a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing or equivalent.
- They welcome international applications with equivalent qualifications of their entry requirements. For more details related to your country of residence, please view their dedicated country pages.
- BTEC: Distinction Distinction Merit in a relevant Maths, Science or Engineering subject which must include Maths modules.
- Access to HE: Pass an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Maths, Science or Engineering, with 45 Level 3 credits equating to 120 UCAS tariff points. E.g. 27 Distinctions, 15 Merits and 3 Passes.
