Mission Statement
By means of a broad and diversified curriculum, our undergraduate program introduces students to the richness and complexity of Arab and Middle Eastern history. This program is intended to develop not only essential knowledge of the past, but also awareness of the methodological and theoretical problematic involved in the study of history as a discipline in the humanities. Students are motivated to be reflexive, read, research and write critically, analytically, and without prejudice or preconceptions. Courses in European and American history supplement the core offerings, fostering a comparative understanding of the enduring relevance of the past in multiple contexts. In line with the faculty’s mission, the program maintains major and minor flexible requirements, leaving room for students to explore other fields of study.Programme Structure
