Overview

The Psychology (Hons) programme offered at the Bangor University  covers the investigation of human behaviour from infancy to old age, examining the many factors that affect the human psyche. From our biology and physiology to sociological influences like parenting, socialisation, education, through to therapeutic approaches and techniques, such as mindfulness and counselling.

Careers

Government findings in 2023 revealed that one in six adults in England have a common mental health disorder and half of all mental health problems start by the age of 14.

This means more psychologists are needed to further our understanding of how to maintain and improve mental wellbeing, and to ensure people get help when they need it, before they reach crisis point.

As a graduate of this BPS accredited psychology degree, you not only have the option to pursue any of the main psychological professions, but will also find your degree useful in a wide range of other professions. This broad degree is a pathway to Masters’ level study in a range of areas including Counselling, Mindfulness, Clinical Neuropsychology and Psychological research as well as graduate entry medical programmes. Previous graduates have found employment in market research, business, as researchers and academics for example, as well as assistant and clinical psychologists, forensic psychology, and working with children and young people.
