Career Prospects

After the successful completion of a one-year internship in an approved hospital in Hong Kong, medical graduates become registered medical practitioners, and subsequently specialists after another four to six years of specialty training. Some may opt for an alternative path by joining academia or becoming a clinician-scientist, combining clinical practice with medical education and scientific research to advance medical development and improve patient care.

In addition to the core curriculum of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Programme, GPS focuses primarily on medical professional training, offers additional learning opportunities to students with high academic ability and interests in undergoing additional training in medical leadership in research, clinical service, healthcare administration and medical education.
