- You’ll learn by doing, so expect lots of hands-on activities, such as working on collaborative assignments, classroom simulations with feedback from peers and lecturers, and, of course, teaching practice in real international schools.
- With the Mathematics Specialisation programme, you develop your intercultural understanding and global teaching skills, so you are ready to meet the challenges of a diverse international classroom with empathy and adaptability.
- The course is designed to give you the skills to incorporate technology into your lessons, enhance student engagement and understanding. You’ll work in practical labs such as ‘Developing Number Sense’ and ‘Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics’ that will encourage you to integrate interdisciplinary approaches into your teaching.

General requirements
Academic
To be admitted to a 4-year bachelor programme, you will need to meet the admission requirements as outlined in Dutch Higher Education law. You need a diploma that is at least equivalent to an NLQF 4/EQF 4 level (Dutch/European Qualifications Framework) and comparable to the required Dutch diploma.
Language
All non-EU/EEA applicants are required to submit an English proficiency test with their application to show that their English language skills are at a high enough level to succeed in their studies.
NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences accepts the following official language tests:
- Academic IELTS 6.0 (with an advised minimum of 5.0 for each skill)
- TOEFL iBT (with a minimum score of 80)
- Cambridge ESOL score First FCE-B (scale 173-175) or First FCE-Grade C (scale 169-172)
- TOEIC 865 (Listening and Reading) and 335 (Speaking and Writing)
