On this Music Technology (Hons) at Leeds Beckett University, you will explore the technologies and techniques used in the recording, production and reproduction of sound and music, fuelling your creativity while expanding your theoretical knowledge.

You will have access to industry-standard facilities, including our impressive recording studios, post-production rooms and portable recording and audio analysis devices. Exciting option modules will enable you to tailor the course to your interests and develop your expertise in different aspects of music technology.

You will graduate with a comprehensive range of skills that reflect the diverse nature and demands of the audio industries. Working as part of an organisation or as freelance specialists, our students have gone on to enjoy careers in studio and live sound engineering, music production, post production, game audio and acoustics. You could also continue your studies at postgraduate level with our MSc Music Technology, MA Digital Music Practice or MA Sonic Arts.

General Requirements

  • UCAS Tariff Points: 112 points required. (Minimum 72 from two A Levels or equivalent, excluding General Studies).
  • GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade C or above (Grade 4 for those sitting their GCSE from 2017 onwards) or equivalent. Key Skills Level 2, Functional Skills Level 2 and the Certificate in Adult Literacy/Numeracy are accepted in place of GCSEs.
