Dalhousie University 's Bachelor of Commerce in Managing People and Organizations programme develops knowledge of organizational design and change, cultural differences in the workforce, labour relations, ethics, and international management.

The Managing People and Organizations major is part of our Bachelor of Commerce Co-op programme. As part of the mandatory co-op portion of degree you’ll complete three paid work terms.
Co-op work terms allow you to develop valuable skills, gain workplace experience, build a network of professional contacts, and gain greater self-confidence before you begin your career – all while earning a salary.
Students majoring in Managing People and Organizations often complete their work terms in sales or human resource departments, in government offices or non-profits.

What you will learn
Business is about developing and maintaining relationships. Our Managing People and Organizations courses focus on fostering these relationships through leadership, communication, and responsible management practices. The topics you’ll cover include management, communications, interpersonal negotiations, team skills, managing innovation and change, and handling conflict.
Experiential learning is a large part of your degree. A significant class time is devoted to putting theory into practice, with exercises, role plays, case studies, and group discussions. You’ll also get real-world experience during your work hours.
Careers
Graduates who major in Managing People and Organizations may choose to start their own small businesses, become sales representatives, manage retail and/or wholesale establishments, or choose from various fields in marketing.
