Overview

The Sport Coaching (Hons) - i2i International Soccer Academy programme at Northumbria University has been specifically curated for future coaches, teachers and sports educators. This specialist programme means that you will attain the skills, knowledge and understanding that may not be taught in a general sports degree. 

Successful coaches have to be driven and constantly looking to improve; as part of your ongoing development, you will earn to build a network around you that will support you at every step of your journey to becoming a high-performing coach.

Expect to be taught by academics who have been there and done it at a national, international and world athlete. Utilise their expertise to learn how to inspire elite athletes, communities and young people through the power of sport.

BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching encourages you to explore a range of career pathways throughout your degree and develop an understanding of contemporary ways of working within coaching by engaging with a range of employers, alumni and external agencies.

You will be given the opportunity and supported to engage with volunteering opportunities with our host employer links. For example, each year we have several Newcastle United FC internships which offer a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into a Premier League football club, and get invaluable experience and contacts within this field.
