Compared to the more mathematical BEng Civil Engineering, this Civil Engineering (Hons) programme at Dundalk Institute of Technology places more emphasis on civil engineering design and practice. The extensive final year project, supervised by design lecturers with industry experience, prepares students for work in a design office.

Applicants to this course should have successfully completed a Level 7, Bachelor of Engineering (ordinary) in Civil Engineering, Building, Structural Engineering, or equivalent with an overall pass and a minimum overall average of 50% achieved in one sitting.
