Overview

The graduates of the British and American Studies - German Language and Literature programme offered at Pavol Jozef Safárik University in Kosice master the practical language skills of the language studied at the B2/C1 level according to the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, they can identify relevant professional literature in the field of scholarly study of English, Anglophone literatures and cultures and can actively use information and communication technologies in educational and research activities .

They can use sophisticated research methods and are able to analyse and critically interpret linguistic, literary, and cultural studies. The graduate is able to implement the acquired knowledge and skills into the process of addressing theoretical and practical issues in the field of their specialisation and can present the results of their research through clearly formulated and convincing arguments.

The graduate has acquired practical translation skills with a focus on the translation of professional text, has a high level of written expression and strong communication skills.
