This St. Lawrence College degree of Social Service Worker is eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) under IRCC’s updated criteria for study permit applications submitted on or after June 25, 2025. Please consult the IRCC website for the most current information.

The SSW program in Social Service Worker at St. Lawrence College gives you the opportunity to learn to work supportively with many different populations, such as persons experiencing mental health issues, substance dependence, settlement challenges, poverty, education challenges, homelessness, abuse and trauma.

Two field placement opportunities
Professors with experience in the field
Relevant courses emphasizing active learning, skill-based learning, hands-on activities, practical assignments
Eligibility to join the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and to use the title, Registered Social Service Worker.
