Human Geography (Hons) Swansea University

Overview

The Human Geography (Hons) programme from Swansea University attracts students from around the world. Our department is based on our stunning Singleton Park campus overlooking Swansea Bay.

Your learning will be shaped by inspirational and internationally-renowned academics including Dr Amanda Rogers who has been awarded the Learned Society of Wales' Dillwyn Medal for outstanding early career research in the Creative Arts and Humanities and Dr Sergei Shubin who leads the Centre for Migration Policy Research (CMPR) and Pacondaa Project.  

A flexibly structured degree path which can be customised with a mixture of human and physical geography modules. Students will  have the opportunity to study abroad for a year or work in industry for a year, either locally, nationally or overseas.

At Swansea we place a strong emphasis on fieldwork. Our field-courses take students to areas of outstanding natural beauty such as the Gower Peninsula, and to locations across the world such as Borneo, The Indian Himalayas and Mallorca.

The graduates have become Catchment Scientists, Ecologists, Geographical Data Processors, Surveyors, Housing Officers, Meteorologists, Journalists, Government Advisors and Lecturers.
