Overview
Within the International Foundation - Electronic Engineering , Pre-Bachelor from INTO The University of Exeter an accelerated 2-term option is available to students with a higher level of English – or choose the 4-term option for extra English language support. You can also take the opportunity to complete a work placement or study in another country as part of your degree, providing you meet the entry requirements.
If you have a higher English language level, you may qualify for our iCAS – integrated Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) – program. Combining your pathway and degree in a single study plan, you’ll only need one visa for the duration of your studies and can apply with alternative English language qualifications to IELTS.

- In scientific modules, students carry out experiments in our science lab and learn how to produce laboratory reports.

- In engineering modules, students learn how to use software to solve problems, and gain practical experience through laboratory work in the university’s electronic and materials testing laboratories.
In humanities and social science modules, students can look at the impact of environmental, political, economic, and social systems, and analyse film techniques and the film industry.
A small number of specialist progression degrees might include compulsory modules to give students the best preparation for their intended degree. Some degrees are only available for certain intakes.

General requirements
Age Requirement:
- 16 years. All students must be 17 by the end of their academic year of study, no later than 31 August.
Academic Requirements:
- Completion of 12 years of schooling (or the local equivalent to meet the same standard) with good grades.
English Language Requirements:
2 Terms: IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in all subskills) or equivalent
3 Terms: IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum of 5.0 in writing and no less than 4.5 in all other subskills) or equivalent
4 Terms: IELTS 4.5 (with a minimum of 4.5 in writing and no less than 4.0 in all other subskills) or equivalent.
