Overview
The Translation and Interpreting course at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University aims to train translators with scientific approaches, in multiple foreign languages, with knowledge of various fields and terminology in various subjects such as medicine, law, economics, literature, social sciences, international relations, information technologies and digitalization in an educational environment equipped with modern techniques.

Thanks to the close relationships our academic staff has established with the market, our Translation and Interpreting Department graduates can find career opportunities in media outlets (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), Anadolu Agency, private television channels, newspapers, and agencies, the European Union Presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Ministry, and the National Intelligence Organization), banks' foreign affairs departments, hospitals, community centers, international conferences and meetings, publishing houses (as translators or editors), localization projects (as project managers and translators), notaries (as sworn translators), translation agencies, and second language teaching programmes, as well as establishing their own translation businesses.
We aim to train multilingual communication agents who are socially conscious, interested in international relations, able to find solutions to today's and tomorrow's problems, able to conduct advanced academic studies, observe social and ethical values, and able to compete in the public and private sectors in a globalizing and digitalizing world!

- Must be a foreign national or must have completed their entire high school level outside of Turkey (not including the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus)
- Must be a senior student or graduate of a high school
- Must not be a citizen of Turkey or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (or have a dual citizenship right of either country or for the ones who had dual citizenship but abolished either one not to have completed all high school education in Turkey or TRNC)
- Must not have been dismissed from a higher education institute in Turkey despite meeting all other above-mentioned requirements
