As a result, lawyers are increasingly required to develop new skills and capabilities to adapt to the changing nature of law and legal work. In our law, technology and innovation minor, we explore how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics are impacting the legal industry. You'll learn about the legal, ethical, and social challenges raised by these technologies, as well as design thinking techniques that enable you to respond to legal challenges from a human-centred approach.

Apply your legal expertise to jobs in the communication industries or use your digital and social media skills in specialist legal practices such as privacy, freedom of speech, litigation or criminal law.

The law degree is approved by the Queensland Legal Practitioners Admissions Board. If you want to become a lawyer at the end of your degree, you will need to complete further practical legal training (PLT) before you can apply for admission to practice. Successful completion of PLT allows you to apply for admission as solicitor, but if you want to be a barrister you will need to also pass the Bar Exams. We offer PLT in the form of the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
