Overview
Key Features
The Teacher Education - Concurrent Education program at Brock University offers students who are beginning their university studies, and wish to pursue a career in teaching, an opportunity to complete the Teacher Education Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree program (leading to an Ontario Certificate of Qualification and Registration — OQR) while earning their undergraduate degree.
Teacher candidates develop teaching-related skills, and gain knowledge and experience throughout their program. Students experience a vibrant curriculum of study for the Primary/Junior (grades K-6), Junior/Intermediate (grades 4-10, emphasis on grades 4-8) or the Intermediate/Senior (grades 7-12) levels.
Brock’s Concurrent Teacher Education programs are six years in length. Upon successful completion of the program, teacher candidates are normally recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers for membership and to receive their Ontario Certificate of Qualification.
