Overview
Key features
During the International Tourism and Hospitality Management with Foundation Year (Hons) at Canterbury Christ Church University, you will be offered work experience/internships and can take advantage of our exciting Tourism and Events Research Hub, which has a reputation for winning successful research grants.
The Foundation Year also gives you experience of applying what you study to the solution of real-world problems. In this way, it gives you the necessary skills for further academic study, inquiry and problem-solving, and helps you become an independent learner.
On completion of the foundation year you will move on to the next level of your studies where you will study modules such as Introduction to Tourism, Hospitality and Events and Current and Future Trends in the industry. Topics will include digital marketing, accounting, dark tourism, film tourism, crisis management, sustainability and the environment.
In the second and third year your foundational knowledge is developed with a greater emphasis on analytical and critical reasoning skills as well as studying key concepts in situ on our free international field trips in year one and two (an option for you), and the dissertation in year three.
