Overview
Through the Molecular Biosciences (joint degree with HAN University of Applied Sciences) (Hons) from University of Dundee you will develop your technical laboratory and professional skills, with teaching largely taking place in the laboratory environment. The HAN focusses on practice-based learning, using projects that will help you apply the theory you’ve learned in practice.
Key facts:
In the last two years, teaching takes place at the University of Dundee. Here you will receive a more research-led approach to learning and teaching, with support from study advisers. You will develop skills in molecular, immunological and informatics approaches to the development of biologics as therapies, as well as developing the bio-enterprise and innovation skills you need to translate your research.
During your final year you will undertake a semester-long internship in a relevant company, giving you significant experience with life science employers in Scotland or internationally. This will be followed by advanced core courses in immunology and gene regulation and expression, as well as a selection from advanced courses in stem cell biology, molecular microbiology, bioinformatics, plant sciences, and/or parasitology.
