Overview
The Civil Systems major provides the foundation of understanding planning, design and construction of essential infrastructure (such as bridges, tunnels, transport systems, water supply, drainage, buildings, airports, and harbours). Skill-based learning will include modelling of civil systems using computer-aided design, through to laboratory experiments to solve problems.

These are the subjects (with minimum scores) you must have completed to be eligible for entry to this course.
- Units 3 & 4: A study score of at least 25 in English/English Language/ Literature or at least 30 in EAL.
English language proficiency
- Applicants intending to major in Civil Engineering Systems may be required to undertake a bridging subject in mathematics as breadth in their first year of the Bachelor of Design. This subject is equivalent to VCE Units 3 and 4 Mathematical Methods, and entry requires a mathematics background equivalent to Units 1 and 2 Mathematical Methods.
