Key facts

At Langara College the Certificate in Engineering Transfer can serve as the first year towards a Diploma in Arts and Science or an Associate of Science Degree. The certificate is awarded upon completion of the courses with a minimum CGPA of 2.5, which must be earned in a period of no longer than five consecutive semesters.

Students who may not meet the requirements for the Engineering Transfer Certificate program, or who need time to transition into the heavy workload of first-year engineering may like to consider the Applied Science for Engineering Diploma program.

Domestic Applicants: BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent) or 19 years of age or older
International Applicants: BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent)
Additional Requirements

One of the following:

A minimum "B" grade in Chemistry 12 or equivalent; or
A minimum "C+" grade in CHEM 1118 at Langara College.

One of the following:

A minimum "B" grade in Physics 12 or equivalent;
A minimum "C+" grade in PHYS 1118 at Langara College; or
Physics Diagnostic Test results allowing registration into PHYS 1125.

One of the following:

A minimum "B" grade in Precalculus 12 or equivalent;
A minimum "C+" grade in Precalculus 12 and a minimum "C-" grade in Calculus 12;
A minimum "C+" grade in MATH 1170 at Langara College; or
A minimum score of 90 on the Mathematics Diagnostic Test.
