Key features
The bachelor's degree in English Literature and Linguistics from Laval University will introduce you to the scientific study of modern and contemporary English-speaking literature and literary theory, as well as linguistics (theoretical or applied). By opting for the concentration in literature, you will study contemporary works covering both the great national corpora (Canadian-English, British, American and Irish corpora) and the postcolonial literatures of Africa, South Asia, Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand.
Your training will allow you to consider different types of jobs related to the study of English-speaking literature. You could move into teaching, designing English learning tools such as software or applications, providing writing and editing services or the tourism sector.

General requirements
Anyone admitted to this baccalaureate must comply with the Provisions relating to the application of the Policy on the use of French at Université Laval.
If the language of instruction in your primary and secondary studies is not French, you must, to be eligible, demonstrate a minimum level of knowledge of the French language by passing the Test de savoir du français tout audience
Hold a diploma attesting to 13 years of education equivalent to a Québec Diploma of College Studies (DCS, or DEC in French)

- Baccalaureate from institutions in most French-speaking African countries
- General Certificate of Education (GCE) from an English-speaking country with 3 “A Levels” in subjects preparing for the desired university program
