Overview
The Arts - Anthropology programme from Macquarie University asks questions about the behaviour, meaning and value between different societies and cultures. Anthropologists focus on groups within society that follow a distinct way of life, such as workers on the shop floor of a factory, people who live by hunting and gathering in the Amazon, corporate managers, Indigenous Australian artists, fans of Harry Potter books, opium growers in South-East Asia or members of a religious group.
Studying Anthropology
- In the Anthropology programme, you’ll learn to differentiate between disciplinary approaches, concepts and methods in the study of the humanities; as well as how to recognise and advocate for the role of the humanities in society.
- You’ll also have the opportunity to choose from a range of electives in areas such as cultural heritage, public history, public relations and social media, and psychological science.
