Overview

The aims of the Food Science and Human Nutrition (Honours) programme from Universiti Teknologi Brunei are:

To demonstrate an integrated scientific understanding of food science and nutrition.
To establish the ability to apply and communicate knowledge to meet the needs of society, industry and the consumer for sustainable and ethical food quality, safety and security of supply.
To articulate skills on nutritional information according to health status and the interaction between diet, health and disease.

To develop knowledge and skills in food science and nutrition through theory and applications.

Careers and Further Studies

Students can pursue careers as nutritionists in food or clinically related health fields. Students who complete the Master of Dietetics degree can also work as registered dietitians. Students can work as nutritional therapists, herbalists and personal trainer at health centres. Students can also participate in a variety of job opportunities in food industry, such as product development, quality assurance, food plant management, food research, food marketing and sales, education and extension.
