Overview
The Law (Individual Rights) (Hons) degree from University of Gloucestershire has been designed to allow students to engage with the numerous aspects of law, including both the theoretical underpinning as well as practical execution and critical analysis of the law. The Individual Rights pathway will enable you to tailor your studies to obtain specialist knowledge on how different areas of the law ensure and uphold the rights of individuals. You will also have the opportunity undertake an extended piece of research via the dissertation module on a self-selected rights-based topic. By the end of your studies, you will be able to make an informed assessment of how far the law is able to protect the individual rights of citizens, in both a private and public sphere.
You’ll take part in engaging and stimulating teaching through our interactive and challenging teaching sessions which focus not only on the letter of the law, but also the practical application and critique of it.

General requirements
- 104 UCAS tariff points, BCC at A levels, DMM at BTEC or a Merit in your T-Level.
- English Language or Literature and Maths Grade 4/C in GCSE (or equivalent) are normally required.
- We welcome applications from mature students (aged 21 and over) and do not necessarily require the same academic qualifications as school leaving applicants, although some entry requirements may still apply for Professionally Accredited Courses. We accept Access to Higher Education Diplomas and make offers on an individual basis.
