Overview

Throughout the Clinical and Health Psychology (Hons) Psychology degree from University of Gloucestershire you’ll be taught and supported by both academics and practitioners who will encourage you to question existing knowledge and consider new approaches.

Within your degree, you’ll explore a range of theory and knowledge to underpin your understanding of the role of psychology in physical and mental health settings.

The course takes an applied perspective, allowing you to explore the role of psychological practitioners working in a range of healthcare settings. You’ll discover how psychology is applied to address a range of health and wellbeing challenges.

Career opportunities:

This course is your first step towards a career as a chartered psychologist in mental or physical health. The degree can help give you an edge when you come to apply for further education to pursue chartership, or can show your expertise in health-related areas when you apply for jobs.  

We also offer a Master’s degree in Health Psychology where you can continue your development towards becoming a chartered health psychologist after you graduate.  

Your future career is important to us, and you’ll be given plenty of opportunities to develop your professional skills. You’ll do a placement module in your second year and be encouraged to continue work experience and placements on your own.  

Guest lecturers will give you overviews of the various career paths available, and how you can pursue both chartered psychology and non-chartered routes.
