Mechanical Engineers make the world a better place – from building more environmentally friendly cars to designing medical devices and robots, to exploring renewable energy sources– all designs use mechanical engineering principles. Dalhousie University 's Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering programme gives you the chance to put theory to practice with a broad range of hands-on learning opportunities in new state-of-the-art facilities.
Programme options
Choose the right program for you. We offer a co-op (five years) and a non-co-op programme (four years). Choosing the co-op programme will give you paid work experience in various roles and organizations.
The strong relationships with government and industry in Nova Scotia, the Atlantic Region, and Canada will give you opportunities for hands-on, real-world learning. Co-op terms start in your 3rd year and typically last for 4 months.

- Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
- Achievement of the minimum average for your programme of choice.
