Overview
Electrical Engineering is the study of how to design, develop and test electrical devices. It requires a knowledge of mathematics, electricity, electromagnetism, and electronics, and it covers the fields of power, control systems, telecommunications and signal processing.
As a Dalhousie University 's Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering student, you will have an opportunity to contribute to advancements in applied science and technology through your senior year industrial design projects and co-op work terms.
Programme options
Undergraduate students have the option of following a co-op programme (five years) or a non-co-op programme (four years).

What you will learn
In the first two years of their degree, all engineering students complete the core engineering programme. You can take this programme either on the Sexton Campus in Halifax or the Agricultural Campus in Truro. You will study math, science, engineering science, and design, developing a broad foundation in engineering.
At the end of your first year, you can apply to one of our six tailored engineering disciplines, including electrical and computer engineering. Placement in a specific discipline is competitive and based on academic performance in the first year.

To be considered for admission to this programme, you must meet minimum academic criteria:
- Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
- Achievement of the minimum average for your programme of choice.
