Marine Sciences Wageningen University and Research

Overview

Seas are being used in increasingly diverse ways—for food production, mineral extraction, transport, wind energy, and tourism. However, warming sea temperatures, overfishing, pollution, and rising sea levels have significant impacts on ecological processes and the social systems of those living by and relying on the sea.

In the international bachelor’s Marine Sciences at Wageningen University and Research , you will gain a deeper understanding of marine systems. You will study not only ecology but also the sea as a food source and its importance to society. For instance, you will explore the causes and effects of ocean pollution or how the sea can contribute to sustainable food production.
