Overview
The structure of a strong natural science, technical and language foundation creates prerequisites for successful continuation of studies in the second degree.
The graduate of the Mechanical Engineering programme from The Technical University of Kosice (TUKE) has cross-sectional knowledge of the field with a focus on application use at a level corresponding to the current state of knowledge, has broad knowledge and understanding in a specialized field, including knowledge of practical contexts and relations to related fields, knows how to actively acquire information and use it to solve practical tasks in the field, can solve practical tasks in the field using usual research and development procedures with a critical assessment of their appropriateness and adequacy, can solve professional tasks and coordinate partial activities and take responsibility for team results, can identify and evaluate ethical, social and other contexts of solved problems, can independently acquire new knowledge and actively expand their knowledge.
Learning goals
Graduate of the study programme:
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding in the field of study, which follow on from general secondary education and are typically at the level of advanced textbooks supplemented with selected aspects of the latest knowledge from the field of study.
- Can use his knowledge and understanding in a way that indicates a professional approach to work and/or to the profession and has competencies usually demonstrated by making and defending arguments and solving problems in the field of study.
- Has the ability to obtain and interpret relevant data in the field of study and to make ethically and socially responsible decisions based on them.
- Can communicate information, concepts, problems and solutions to professional and lay audiences.
- Has developed educational skills necessary to continue further studies with a high degree of independence.

General requirements
- a completed application for university studies of the first level
- a certified copy of the completed secondary education with a certified translation into the Slovak language
- the decision on recognition of completed education (validation) issued by the Regional Office Košice, Department of Education, Zádielska 1, 040 33 Košice
- a certified copy of the transcript of records covering all the years of secondary education with a certified translation into Slovak. If the length of secondary education studies exceeds four years then a certified copy of transcript of records covering the last four years of study at secondary school is required
- Curriculum Vitae in Slovak (or English, according to the language in which the applicant will study) signed by the applicant
- a copy of passport
- a proof of payment of the handling fee for the admission procedure (can be submitted to the Study department no later than the date of enrolment)
