Overview

The Translation and Interpretation programme from Baskent University has accepted first students in 2017-2018 Academic year. The main goal of programme is as follows: training and educating translators and interpreters within the framework of scientific methods, who can translate and interpret within Turkish-English and English-Turkish language pairs, and who are well equipped with qualifications required by the profession.

In process of translation, use the present technologies such as translation memories, online references, terminology banks, spelling and grammar control, the Internet, terminology data base and computer-based translation programmes in amen excellent manner and follow developments in this field.

Share ideas related to topics and problems in the field translation and interpretation and suggestions concerning solutions to the problems supported by quantitative and qualitative data with experts and non-experts.

Admissions to the programmes are made in accordance with the rules and regulations set down by The Higher Education Council of Turkey in compliance with the laws and statutes. Students apply to Başkent University on the dates announced in order to complete their enrolment to the programmes. Unless a written excuse is presented, enrolment procedures have to be carried out by the students themselves individually. The process is administered by the Student Registrar’s Office.

The placement of students in the Programme is held through the National Student Election and Placement System which is operated by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Centre.
