Overview
The European Languages program at University of the Philippines Diliman objectives are the following
- design and implement undergraduate research work and understand their role as contributors to the production of knowledge;
- apply their knowledge and skills in foreign language education, literary and cultural studies, and translation studies, which they will need as professionals in their chosen field; and
- demonstrate B2 language proficiency in order to linguistically and pragmatically communicate with various nationals. At this level, students can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization, express him/herself fluently, use the language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes, and produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects.

General requirements
- Completion of high school program in the country where he had his secondary education (includes completion of a one- or two-year pre-university education in a country where such is a prerequisite for admission to a bachelor’s degree program)
- Qualifying in a college-qualifying national or international foreign-administered examination such as General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or equivalent examination:
- GCE: 3 ordinary level passes and 2 advanced level passes
- SAT: minimum total score of 1200 in Critical Reading (Verbal) and Math
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
