Overview
The goal of the Statistics program at at University of the Philippines Diliman is to provide strong and holistic statistics and liberal education so the graduates are:
- Technically competent, with a core and applied skills needed by industry and the job market as a whole;
- Adaptive, ready and equipped to provide for the needs given limited resources of the company or organization;
- Skillful in the use of data analysis tools in problem-solving;
- Ready to take up further studies
- Flexible in their ability to specialize in other fields, with necessary skills that open other pursuits requiring quantitative analysis; and,
- Skillful in collaboration, teamwork, and organizing and managing statistical projects.

General requirements
- Completion of high school program in the country where s/he had secondary education (includes completion of a one- or two-year pre-university education in a country where such is a prerequisite for admission to a bachelor’s degree program); and
- Qualifications for college admission by any of the following national or international foreign-administered examinations: the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), or the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination, or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, or other equivalent examinations approved by UP.
- SAT: Redesigned SAT – minimum total score of 1270 (620 in Math and 650 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing); or
- GCE: 2 ordinary (O) level passes and 3 advanced (A) level passes (effective AY 2028-2019; or
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
