Key highlights
- It lays the foundation for theories and methods in geography to equip students in applying geographic approaches to examine local and global experiences and issues as outcomes of complex physical and human processes. With a strong extension component that links academe with community, the program provides a rich learning experience that prepares students for careers in the academia, private sector, government agencies, non-government organizations, and other institutions.
- Graduates of the program pursue professions or advanced degrees in resource management, urban planning, disaster risk reduction and management, geomatics, GIS, environmental science, education, among other fields of practice.
- The Geography Program at University of the Philippines Diliman consists of general education courses in the freshman and sophomore years including basic geography subjects. The junior and senior years are devoted to advanced and specialized training in the different sub-fields of Geography. A field geography course highlights the program by offering the students a venue for applying the theoretical foundations learned in the previous years.

- Completion of high school program in the country where he had his secondary education (includes completion of a one- or two-year pre-university education in a country where such is a prerequisite for admission to a bachelor’s degree program)
- Qualifying in a college-qualifying national or international foreign-administered examination such as General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or equivalent examination:
- GCE: 3 ordinary level passes and 2 advanced level passes
- SAT: minimum total score of 1200 in Critical Reading (Verbal) and Math
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma
