Key facts
It consists of 140 semester credit hours of course work of which 30 credits are completed in the freshman year while the student is enrolled in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and 110 credits are completed in three years while the student is enrolled at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.
The undergraduate curriculum for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Major: Chemical Engineering from American University of Beirut is a five-year program. It consists of 173 semester credit hours of course work of which 30 credits are completed in the freshman year while the student is enrolled in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and 143 credits are completed in four years while the student is enrolled at the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. Students who are admitted at the sophomore level will be required to complete either 110 credits in three years to earn the BS degree or 143 credits in four years to earn the BE degree.

- Students are normally admitted as sophomores to the BBA program either through direct admission, through transfer from other Faculties at AUB or through transfer from other universities.
- Students may also be admitted as junior transfers from other Faculties at AUB or from outside AUB.
