Overview

Specifically designed for international students who show academic promise but who do not meet the University’s academic and/or English language requirements for direct entry to Year 1 of an undergraduate degree.
Six subject-specific pathways which prepare students for entry to the second year of a relevant undergraduate degree.
Successful completion leads to the award of a Certificate of Higher Education and entry to Year 2 of a Business and Management, Business Economics, Accounting and Finance, Engineering, Mathematics with Business, or Psychology degree at the University of Exeter.

Learning and teaching

Teaching is delivered through a range of methods including lectures, seminars, academic tutorials and, where appropriate, laboratory classes. The programmes have also been designed to develop the key transferable skills needed for successful undergraduate study.

Programme Structure

There are six subject pathways to choose from:

Accounting and Finance
Biosciences
Engineering
Management and Business Economics
Mathematics with Accounting, Economics, Finance or Management
Psychology

Around 80 per cent of the course is devoted to subject that relate directly to your proposed degree programme. All students take Academic English Language and Study Skills within the context of your academic discipline, which accounts for approximately 20 per cent of classes, and covers reading, writing, listening and speaking.
