Overview

The student of the Veterinary Nurse programme from University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice has knowledge of diagnostic methods, basic knowledge of parasitic and infectious diseases of pets, interpretation of pathogenetic mechanisms in connection with disease processes, characteristics of tumors, developmental anomalies and immune disorders, the student is able to manage the veterinary reception and first contact with the patient and client.

The student will master outpatient laboratory techniques, evidence and management of therapy for individual diseases, preventive veterinary health programmes for puppies, adults and aging patients and patients with special needs, gains knowledge of management of handicapped, abandoned and zoo animals and have basic knowledge of hospitalized patient care management.
