Overview
You will complete multiple design-build-test challenges during your degree which test your theoretical engineering understanding and practical skills. These challenges start with a design brief, to which you must apply the Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate (CDIO) engineering cycle.
Electronic and electrical engineering impacts almost every aspect of our lives – including renewables, electricity generation, transmission and distribution, transport, control, computation, communication and satellite communication.
Career Prospects:
The demand for electrical engineers is growing and will continue to grow. Engineering graduates are successful in a wide range of sectors.
You will graduate with more than your engineering knowledge. You will graduate as a numerate and scientifically trained thinker with skills that are immediately transferable to a range of sectors. Your independent project work, team projects, presentations, skills and lab experiences will help you to develop skills that are useful in a range of job roles, and you will have the opportunity to study business and enterprise modules to prepare you for the industry or to set up your own business.
