Overview
With the Dance, Aerial and Physical Theatre (Hons) programme from University of Chichester you will develop your technical skills and understanding of contemporary dance practice with modules on dance performance, physical theatre techniques, narrative and character development, choreography and performance skills. Alongside this choreographic focus, your aerial technique classes will enable you to develop new ways of moving and extend your movement vocabulary.
Your Dance Technique classes will focus on a range of contemporary styles as well as ballet. You will also attend 3 aerial technique classes per week to enhance your performance skills. In years 1 and 2 you will be introduced to a range of apparatus, with the option to narrow your focus in third year if you wish to specialize in one apparatus. This course is available to you whether you are new to aerial work or a practiced performer as our technique classes can cater to mixed ability. You do not need previous aerial experience to apply.
